BIOGRAPHY
Olga Formisano ideally belongs to the school of realism and metaphysical transfiguration, which has Gregorio Sciltian and, partly, Giorgio De Chirico, as the greatest representatives. Excellent choice of colors and lighting. Subject/object: oranges, apples, bottles, with their shadows and their ambiguity meant like "things" .... A studied painting, not sugary, tending to go beyond reality.
The most humble and daily event becomes, through the paint-brush of Olga Formisano, a symbol, a mystery.
Olga Formisano lives and works in Rome. She attended the “Scuola delle Arti Ornamentali"in Rome. She has given many solo and group exhibitions and participated in numerous awards, gaining widespread support throughout the public and flattering praise from the more qualified critics. In 1993 she received the award at the Campidoglio in Rome "Women in the Culture."
She says: "My painting procedure is very slow and it's a continuous research for details that makes possible this realistic evolution. When finished I hope to have given life and soul to the painting that can speak for itself."
